Board Member & Volunteer Hero Descriptions

Click on each tab below to see the description for each role at a high level.

Board Co-President

Being a Co-President of the Pigskin Board is more like being a laid-back team captain than a boss – it’s all about guiding the team while the awesome parent volunteers tackle the nitty-gritty stuff. The Co-President’s main gig is to run the monthly board meetings, set up the agenda, and help everyone stay focused on meeting the goals we’ve set. And hey, two heads are better than one, so we call it “Co-President” because a dynamic duo can tag-team the role and make sure everything’s covered. Connecting with the head coach and keeping the communication flowing is also part of the game plan.

Board Member

Vice President

Stepping into the role of Vice President for the Pigskin Board is like taking the field as a star quarterback – you’re the go-to playmaker who keeps the team moving towards victory. As Vice President, you’ll work closely with the Co-President(s) to lead our dedicated team of chair-people and committees, ensuring everyone is well-coordinated and focused on the end zone. You’ll be the linchpin of the board, helping to execute strategies and drive the game plan to success. Just like a quarterback relies on their teammates, you’ll collaborate with the head coach and Co-President(s) to maintain open lines of communication, support our amazing parent volunteers, and keep the spirit of Vaquero Football alive and thriving.

Board Member

Treasurer / Booster Rep

The Treasurer for the Pigskin Booster Board is like our team’s trusty running back – they’ve got the money ball, and they know how to handle it. They’re the money maestro, taking care of all the typical treasurer duties like managing the books, keeping track of expenses, and making sure our cash flow stays in the end zone. They’ll also play nice with the All Athletic Booster Board, making sure our football program’s finances are on point and by the book. At Pigskin Board meetings, they’ll report back on our financial game plan, so everyone knows we’re set for a winning season, both on the field and in the bank.

Board Member

Secretary

The Secretary on the booster board is like the team’s behind-the-scenes, board meetingMVP, making sure everything runs smoothly during the meetings and everyone’s in the loop. They’re the go-to person for jotting down all the important stuff that goes down in meetings and sharing those minutes with the rest of the board. They also keep an eye on action items, so nobody drops the ball on their tasks. In short, the Secretary is the glue that holds the board together, making sure everyone’s on the same page.

Board Member

Fundraising Chair

The Fundraising Chair is like the team’s star quarterback when it comes to raising funds – they lead the charge for all our cool fundraising events like Blast!, the fundraising portion of our Kick-off Dinner, local restaurant nights, and more. They’ve got the ball for everything except Game Program Ad sales which is handled by another board member. But hey, nobody wants to go it alone, so the Fundraising Chair can put together their own dream team of parent volunteers to form a Fundraising Committee. With this squad on their side, they can share the load and make sure our football program scores big in the fundraising game.

Board Member

Special Events Chair

The Special Events Chair is like the team’s party planner extraordinaire – they’re the go-to guru for all our awesome events, from the big shindigs like the Kick-off Dinner and End of Season Banquet to the smaller get-togethers throughout the year. But even the best playmakers need a solid team, so the Special Events Chair can round up a group of enthusiastic parent volunteers to form a Special Events Committee. Together, they’ll tackle the responsibilities of organizing these memorable events, making sure our football program always has a reason to celebrate.

Board Member

Team Liaisons (One for each Level – Varsity, JV, Freshman)

The Team Liaison is like the each team level’s all-star communicator – they’ve got mad skills when it comes to keeping everyone in the loop. Their main play is making sure the program/coaches and parents are always on the same page, so nobody misses a beat. But wait, there’s more! They also take charge of filling those essential game-day volunteer roles, making sure parents get in on the action and everything runs like a well-oiled machine. The Team Liaison is our go-to connector, keeping everyone in sync and the good vibes flowing between the coaches and parents on and off the field.

Board Members

Game Program Ad Coordinator

The Game Program Ad Coordinator has a crucial job – and it’s own specific role in our fundraising efforts. Their mission is all about handling the behind-the-scenes action for one of our biggest annual fundraisers: the Game Program Ads. It’s the Parents and players responsibility to sell the Ads – the Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistics, like collecting checks, passing along Ad artwork to our graphic designer, and keeping everything organized on a trusty spreadsheet. They’ll be ready to share updates at board meetings, making sure the play-by-play is all set for a successful season of Program Ad fundraising.

Board Member

Game Program Design Coordinator

The Game Program Design Coordinator is like our team’s creative quarterback, bringing our beautiful color game programs to life for each home game. With five home games per season, this role is all about working in sync with our contracted graphic designer and printer to keep the content fresh and up-to-date for every game.

You’ll be the mastermind behind updating game schedules and results, selecting the best action shots from our game photographers, fine-tuning player rosters, and crafting special pages like Senior Night info. No graphic design experience? No problem! This gig is all about coordinating and supplying the content for our designer to work their magic. Of course, if you’ve got a flair for design and want to flex those creative muscles, we won’t say no!

So, if you’re a detail-oriented, content-savvy football fan, you’re just the creative coordinator our team needs to make our game programs shine!

Volunteer Hero

Social Media / Website Coordinator

The Social Media/Website Coordinator is like our team’s digital cheerleader, spreading the good word about the Irvine Vaquero Football Brand across all the cool platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Blast! They’ll share pics, news, and videos, and keep our website looking fresh and up-to-date. Don’t worry if you’re not a tech guru – this gig is easy peasy, and we’ll provide all the training you need. Your main mission is to make sure our community stays in the loop about all the exciting happenings, both on and off-season. So, if you’ve got a passion for social media and a love for our team, you’re just the star player we’re looking for!

Volunteer Hero

Snack Bar Coordinator

The Snack Bar Coordinator is like our team’s snack-time sidekick, creating a small snack-savvy committee and utilizing a group of 10-12 provided volunteers for each game to make our home games deliciously fun. This role is all about guiding the squad and raising funds for our football program through our awesome snack bar.

You won’t go it alone – with your trusty committee and game-day volunteers, you’ll set up, run, and tear down the snack bar every Friday night we have a home game. And no worries if you’re new to the snack bar scene – we’ll provide all the training you need.

So, if you’re a snack bar fan with a passion for teamwork and tasty treats, you’re the perfect fit to lead our snack bar crew!

Volunteer Hero

Snack Bar Assistant

The Snack Bar Assistant will ensure there are 10-12 freshman volunteer parents/players/family members for each home game. You will arrive early to help set up the Snack Bar and train the weekly volunteers. This role is all about helping the squad raise funds for our football program through our awesome snack bar.

This role will also give info to Snack Bar Coordinator at the end of the game items that were popular or sold out that week for restocking.

You won’t go at it alone – with your game-day volunteers, you’ll set up, run, and tear down the snack bar every Friday night we have a home game. And no worries if you’re new to the snack bar scene – we’ll provide all the training you need.

Team Meal Co-Coordinators

The Team Meal Co-Coordinators are like our team’s dynamic duo of culinary champions, making sure our hungry football players are well-fed and satisfied. Together, they tackle the tasty mission of feeding our boys with game-day meals on Fridays before the games and team breakfasts on game-days as well.

One half of this power pair is all about connecting with restaurants, using their superpower to score donated or discounted food so our game-days are covered with delicious eats. The other half is the logistics mastermind, handling the ins and outs of organizing the meals (breakfasts & dinners), including rallying parent volunteers to drop off side dishes and serve up a feast for our boys.

So, if you’ve got a passion for connecting with restaurants or love orchestrating mealtime magic, we’ve got a spot for you on our culinary tag-team, keeping our players well-fed and ready to win!
